Not Being Commissioner In Your Fantasy League Is The Absolute Worst (I've Been Overthrown)

This dark tale begins on a slow Friday work day. For everyone new, I am in a 16 team fantasy football league for 6 years now and I have been commissioner of that league for 3 years. This is about the time I start doing the mock drafts. Does it actually help at all? Maybe, you could argue that's how I snagged Ladd last year, but it probably doesn't help. I mainly do it because it's a fun way to pass the time.     Anyway, I logged into the app and went to start a mock draft. I noticed the draft order has not been set up. You have to had the draft order set up in order to do a good mock draft or else the app will just pick a random draft spot for you. Not a problem. As commissioner, I can just go in and set the draft order for the year. Should be simple right? WRONG.     I noticed it wouldn't let me set the draft order. I then checked the app and apparently I am no longer commissioner. Believe it or not, this has happened before. I have no clue as to...

UFL Expansion Or Relocation?

You could argue that with the merger of the USFL and XFL, this iteration of spring football is the most successful spring football we have ever had. It's so successful, many fans believe that they are expanding. Here is the most recent news. "A recent item from UFLNewsHub.com indicates that USFL Enterprises LLC (which apparently owns the USFL half of the league) filed earlier this month trademark applications relating to the names of four original USFL teams: the Oakland Invaders, the Philadelphia Stars, the New Jersey Generals, and the Tampa Bay Bandits."      Here is a link to the article for those that want to take a deep dive. A lot of people are very excited about this. Personally as a Battlehawks fan myself, I hope that people are right about this. I have a different take. A sad take. Let's take a look at some recent attendance numbers. " 2025 Season, Week 9 Attendance Figures St. Louis: 27,890 Memphis: 2,044 Birmingham: 10,344 Housto...

MLB All-Quarter Century Team

Jayson Stark posted his "MLB All-Quarter Century" team and it went super viral in the MLB community. Starting Rotation Justin Verlander Clayton Kershaw Roy Halladay Max Scherzer Randy Johnson DH David Ortiz Catcher Yadier Molina 1st Base Albert Pujols 2nd Base Jose Altuve Shortstop Derek Jeter 3rd Base Adrian Beltre Outfield Barry Bonds Mike Trout Aaron Judge As you can see, some of this list is outrageously wrong. Allow me to break it down and prove it to you why Jayson Stark is a fraud. Starting Rotation The starting rotation is actually valid. You could make an argument that the order is wrong, but I'm not too worried about that. You could make the argument that Pedro Martinez should be in place of Roy Halladay but the starting rotation isn't tooo egregious. DH The DH is also valid. You could argue it will end up being Ohtani, but I think Ohtani needs to keep it up in order for it to work. First Base and Second Base There's no argument with first base, but you ...

Is Vegas Ruining Sports?

For those of you that don't know, I'm a casual WWE fan. For all of you that hate on WWE cry about it. WWE is sick and very fun to watch. But that's not the point, the point is the news that has come out about WWE recently. "The plan right now is to run WrestleMania on a regular basis in Las Vegas" This made me ask the question, is Vegas ruining sports by trying to take all of these events? Let's break it down by sport. WWE      This can work for WWE. People will complain about Wrestlemania not traveling around, but it barely travels around as it is. I feel like they only go to New York, Dallas, LA, and Vegas with other cities sprinkled in. Nothing will feel different and people need to calm down. Super Bowl     This would never work for the Super Bowl. Vegas would have to pay an ABSURD amount of money for them to stop traveling to different cities. The Super Bowl is also different where it's a spectacle anywhere it travels to. The Super Bowl ...

Ban The Tush Push

Everyone has seen the drama involving the tush push. In my opinion, it should be banned for many reasons. Let's break them down. Eagles Fans Are Insufferable     Has anyone noticed that the only people that are fighting for this rule are Eagles fans? Yeah, they're known for being great people. All of these Eagles fans claim that everyone else is just jealous and their team should have drafted better. This is just simply not the case. All you need is a good offensive line. Plus, it's also really funny to see eagles fans complain. It's Really Just A QB Sneak If you ask me, I think just a classic QB sneak isn't too different. You don't need a QB that can squat 500 pounds to do a QB sneak, just look at how good Tom Brady was at it. If anyone tries to counter this argument and say "Players have gotten injured on a QB sneak" just tell them they are right. since they are so similar they should be for banning the tush push. It's Illegal On Defense Di...

A New Era

I would first like to welcome everyone to a new era. For everyone that's new, welcome. To recap, about 3 years ago I started a newsletter for all of my fantasy football friends. They would complain constantly for my apparent "Hot Takes" even though I am a consistently good fantasy football athlete.       Now before anyone asks, the answer is no I have not won a championship in my 16 team league. There are many reasons for this that involve collusion as well as injuries, but you can really just blame it all on the fantasy football gods. I have tried many ways to appease the fantasy football gods. From obtaining from talking smack to even shaving my head MULTIPLE times.     Anyway, those fantasy football hot takes eventually turned into hot takes in all sports in general. The weekly fantasy football newsletter became something bigger with multiple articles and all takes sports related. I have not gone back and checked, but I am right...
