I Don't Know What I'm Doing In My Dynasty League Draft

Image
My fantasy football league had our dynasty draft recently, and I don't know how I did at all. It was only four rounds so I'm not sure it will matter too much in the end considering my team hasn't fallen off much at all. Here are my four picks I made:       The draft was four rounds, but I obviously made some trades during the season if you remember. My strategy was clearly to go WR heavy. That was because that might be my only flaw coming into this season. Someone please tell me how I did. I will leave you all with my championship winning team last year.

The Cardinals Still Need To Sell At The Deadline

I have a renewed joy in being a Cards fan. I'm not going to lie to anyone, I was a little burnt out on baseball after working for the MLB in the clubhouses for a little bit in my career, but my tarp is off and I'm all the way back in.  With that being said, we still need to sell at the deadline in order to win the World Series in 2028.      If there wasn't going to be a lockout that would be a different story, but we aren't going to have baseball next year (they are getting a salary cap but that's for a different post). Anyone that's a free agent next year needs to go for the future. According to spotrac.com, the two big names on the list are May and JoJo.       Along with them, fan favorite Noot might be traded at the deadline as well. Noot was in talks of being traded this offseason before his injury so I would assume he's proven himself.     Another dark horse to be traded I would say is Gorman. The leaders in the...

I No Longer Believe In The UFL

Image
Yesterday one of the only teams in the UFL with fans, the St. Louis Battlehawks, lost in the playoffs yet again. I would like to point out all of the empty seats. Not only is the UFL getting less popular, I believe it is too late. Lack of Attendance     Well, well, well. Look at all those empty seats in St. Louis. It's almost like RJ's hot take was correct yet again, they should have moved to the smaller soccer stadium. Shoutout to all the haters, I was right again. Matthew Call will never recover from this.     The reason attendance is lacking is quite simple, no one actually has a home team. For those of you that don't know, all the teams live and practice in Dallas and then travel to all the games. The fans in St. Louis noticed.     The reason the XFL was successful before covid was because we finally felt like we had a team again. Everyone bought in, even the players and coaches. They did things like volunteered around the city and ...

"If you don't give up, you just might make it"

I know, it's been a long hiatus. To be completely honest, I feel like I gave up on this. Google broke me. No matter what I did, I couldn't get ad-sense to approve so I could start making some money off of this. But, as I was doom scrolling this morning I saw a quote from Seth Rogan. He said his advice was to never give up because "If you don't give up, you just might make it and if you give up, you never know how close you truly were."      That inspired me to pick this back up. I will not give up on my pursuit of a part time sports writing position.      I'm going to dive deeper in baseball, and more specifically, the Cardinals this year. I have some scorching hot takes about this team. Also, I had my dynasty draft recently and I have no clue what I'm doing (even though I'm the returning champion) so that will be entertaining too.     I currently have over 4,000 views from across the world, I intend to win all of you back. I'...

Week 12 Recap / Week 13 Preview

Image
The Great Playoff Race With two weeks left of the regular season, only one team has clinched a playoff birth. Congrats to Jack on being the first to clinch a playoff spot. I think we can all agree that no one saw coming. You can make the argument that Ryan 2 is basically in as well. Only one team has been officially been eliminated from the playoffs (RIP Coach Doug), meaning that they're 9 teams fighting for 4 playoff spots. This is the reason we play fantasy football. A Statement For Sam In week 11, Sam was able to pull out a win and beat me. I would first like to say that I predicted this would happen because the fantasy gods seem to hate me. Sam has demanded a statement be made since he defeated me (in close fashion). In fact his exact words were: "Suck. My. Dick. Put that on your little blog, bitch." "Eagerly awaiting an apology on your little blog update, bitch." Well Sam, here is my statement. I'm sorry that the fantasy gods gifted you one good week,...

Week 11

Image
After a few weeks, I have returned with relatively no news. However, I have nothing to do at work on a Friday afternoon so I thought I'd go ahead and rip one of these out. Since week 11 already started, Let's just go ahead and show the current standings and then do how I think week 11 will shake out. Standings As you can, I've managed to finally win a game and get back into playoff contention. I would also like to point out that most of the teams I originally predicted to be terrible are starting to eliminate themselves from the playoffs. As you can see by my points for and points against totals, I have had some very bad luck so far. Perhaps my luck is beginning to turn as we head into week 11. Week 11 I finally get the matchup that we have been waiting for, Sam. Unfortunately for Sam, I am done with bye weeks and my team is mostly healthy. Diggs putting up 20 points on Thursday is huge. I'm going to need it too. My team has to contain Josh Allen in order to keep my pl...

Week 8 Recap / Week 9 Preview

Another week of fantasy football, another week of pain and sadness. Every team in this league seems to be pretty even, and that's a good thing. It just brings me pain. This has been an very interesting week in the league. I don't want to be that guy, but I don't think it's a coincidence that the week the newsletters come back the league went crazy. Let's begin with the trade before the games started. Trade Alert      There was a trade that was made before the week began. Keep in mind I still think it was a decent trade before the week transpired.      Let's break down this trade. At the time, Lamar was coming back so I didn't think I needed a backup as good as Flacco anymore. I thought it would be good to move up in the draft a little bit and also got a slightly worse backup in return. Then, Thursday Night Football happened and potentially ended Wentz's career. Then, on Sunday Flacco had another great game with Lamar not playing a...
