As you can see, some of this list is outrageously wrong. Allow me to break it down and prove it to you why Jayson Stark is a fraud.
Starting Rotation
The starting rotation is actually valid. You could make an argument that the order is wrong, but I'm not too worried about that. You could make the argument that Pedro Martinez should be in place of Roy Halladay but the starting rotation isn't tooo egregious.
DH
The DH is also valid. You could argue it will end up being Ohtani, but I think Ohtani needs to keep it up in order for it to work.
First Base and Second Base
There's no argument with first base, but you could make an argument with second. Now, if you're going by pure numbers, Altuve is the answer. However, in my opinion, Altuve is a cheating fraud and the majority of his numbers should be thrown out the window. I would probably throw in someone like Biggio, Pedroia, or Utley.
Shortstop
This one is the most outrageous on this list. Jayson Stark is obviously a Yankee fan with this terrible take. Jeter wasn't even the best shortstop on his team. Alex Rodriguez is the obvious answer here. This shouldn't even be a debate.
Third Base
Another bad take here. Don't get me wrong, Adrian Beltre is a great player, but I guess Jayson forgot that Miguel Cabrera exists. There's no possible way you can leave a triple crown winner and 500 home run player off of this list.
Outfield
The outfield is pretty solid here. You could make the argument that it should be Ichiro in there over Trout. That would be a valid take. It all comes down to what this list represents. You're only taking Trout if he's fully healthy and he doesn't have all of his injuries. I think you go with Ichiro for his longevity.
