League Recap \ Week 8 Preview

Welcome back everyone. It's been a long time coming, and I would like to apologize. Work has been very busy lately, and I couldn't find the time until now. As we get this recap going, I would like to jump ahead to what I'm sure people are going to say. No, I did not stop doing the newsletters because my team has collapsed. It is just an unhappy coincidence for me. The worst part? I think the future looks bleak for team as well. Let's dive in.

Standings

I thought instead of showing the past week as the recap, I would just go through the standings and show where everyone is at.

I would like to point out that while my team "collapsed" and I'm on a 3 game losing streak, note that I still lead the league in points as well as lead the league in points against. I can trace back my downfall to 2 players. Mike Evans and Lamar Jackson. Their injuries have ruined my season and made me question how my roster is built entirely. Looking at the league as whole, everyone seems to have pretty even teams. Two teams seemed to command the league. Jack and Ryan 2 seem to have pleased the fantasy gods somehow. Time will tell if it continues.

Week 8 Preview

As you can see, I am clearly back. Mike Evans is out for the season, but Lamar Jackson is back and ready to roll. If I could pull off this win Kyren Williams on a bye week, it would be huge for my teams morale. Shoutout to Jared and all his good players being injured or on bye.
Pick: RJ
Jake might win by default here. Alex has so many injured players right now, I'm not sure there's much he can do besides pray. Jake really hit big with Bo Nix. He really is him. If Derrick Henry and come back to form, he may be able to go on a run here.
Pick: Jake
A matchup of the titans here. This matchup is going to come down to QB and RB1 play. Unfortunately, I think Jack is going to grab another win here. With CMC being healthy, pairing it up with the QB duo of Baker and Indiana Jones. It appears the fantasy gods favor the ones who don't pay attention to the draft.
Pick: Jack
It appears coach Doug has given up. He has two players starting on bye and has Scary Terry on his bench. I will keep everyone updates if this continues because if it does, I may need to step in as commissioner.
Pick: Joe
Sam has reached a new low. Private Joe is off fighting for our country and he has to go and try and punish him for it. If Sam doesn't bench his lineup in tribute to our country, he clearly hates the troops. Sam better hope the Eagles haven't heard about this, because they might run up the score for Private Joe here.
Pick: Private Joe
Shoutout to both of these teams. Ryan and Stephen have both been able to turn their seasons around and go on a tear. This matchup is going to be a close one that's going to come down to the QB play. I just don't think Mariota and Tyrod Taylor are going to get it done for Ryan.
Pick: Stephen

That's all I have for this week. I should be able to be more consistent with these as the busyness of work begins to die down for a little bit, but at this point I can't promise anything. As always, I leave you with my rankings so far for this season. Unfortunately, these rankings are not up for debate.

  1. RJ (I'm so back)
  2. Jack
  3. Ryan 2
  4. Stephen
  5. Ryan
  6. Jake
  7. Jared
  8. Joe
  9. Alex
  10. Sam
  11. Coach Doug
  12. Private Joe (Thank you for your service)
