Week 3 Recap / Week 4 Preview
I am more confused with the NFL than I was last week. The Chiefs seem to be very bad this year, the Ravens lost again, and the Chargers seem to be the luckiest team int he league. From fantasy perspective, teams have now swung back to my original predictions. Let's begin.
Trade Alert
The first trade has been this season. Let's take a look.
Week 3
Before I begin this week, I would like to officially announce that none of my picks will count for the rest of the season. I am going to throw injuries under the bus here, but I really blame myself. These fantasy football teams seem to have collapsed and swung back to my original predictions. I should have never doubted myself.
Jack has finally floated down to earth. With the injury to Najee, Hampton has finally put up the points that Joe needs to be successful. Although he still has a problem with Jeanty potentially being a flop, Sam Darnold appears to be picking up the slack in the meantime. Jack's team seems to finally be playing as predicted. he did strike gold with Quentin Johnston, but none of his other players are showing an signs that they will be successful this season. If you add the James Conner injury on top of that, well that spells disaster for you (real ones know that reference).
This is a classic Sam loss here. Ryan seemed to have given up this season with the Joe Burrow injury. All seemed lost. Little did Ryan know, he forgot he was playing Sam this week. The funniest part about this week for Sam is that based on my predictions, his team should fall even more. For example, Nico Collins will not put up 30 points each week. I'm sure Sam's will respond by wanting me to show how many points his bench scored this week, but to me that doesn't matter much as well. I do not think that Hunter Henry will continue to score 33 points each week. Please leave him on your bench.
A true battle between two rebuilding teams in this matchup. No matter the score, I'm always a fan of close games. This loss is going to haunt Stephen for a little bit. He could have had his first win of the year if started Tre Tucker, instead he scored 44 points on his bench. Caleb Williams won Alex the week, but it also cost him Tyrone Tracy. This seem like one of those injuries where Cam Skattebo takes over that backfield and doesn't look back.
I think it's time we say it, the dynasty of Jared is over. Jared scored the least amount of points out of everyone that checked their lineups this week. I blame the draft, but that wasn't really Jared's fault. Players like Hall and Harrison fell to Jared after sliding way down in the draft. I would of done the same thing if I were him. Let's keep an eye on how Jared will bounce back from this. I'm sure his team will be amazing next week.
Ryan has a chance to continue the comeback here. It's a very bad sign that Jack is starting a RB projected 5 points. This matchup is going to come down to the Bengals here. Can Browning perform for Ryan without throwing it to Chase? Is it better for Ryan for Browning to be terrible so Chase doesn't score any points? Let's watch how this plays out. I'm rooting for the comeback story.
This is a good tune up game for Joe. With Tracy being out this week and Travis Hunter looking more like a defensive player, it's not looking good for Alex. This matchup is going to come down to a lot of unproven talent. Joe's team is essentially all rookies and Alex needs to rely on players like Hunter and Luke McCaffrey. I think Joe pulls this one out on the back of Justin Herbert.
This is the exact matchup that Jared needed. It's looking like Coach Doug had a bad draft. McLaurin and Purdy are hurt, Harvey appears to be more of a backup, and Ladd McConkey seems to have dropped in the depth chart for some reason. It be OVER over for Jared if he loses this week.
This would be such a funny Sam loss. I think it might actually happen here. This week is going to come down to 2 players for Sam. First is Josh Allen. The Bills might dominate the Saints so much that they might give the backups some reps. The second is Bucky Irving. He's got a tough matchup against the Eagles this week. For Stephen, it's going to come down to QB play. Dak has a tough matchup and Stroud hasn't been very reliable lately. It will also be interesting to see how Jefferson does with Wentz playing against the Steelers. I will enjoy rooting for the underdog story.
