Week 1 Recap / Week 2 Picks & Preview

     What a hot start to the football season. A lot of surprising things in week one. As it turns out, Dan Campbell isn't actually that good as the Lions head coach (I had that take years ago), the cowboys may actually not be that bad, and the Chiefs seemed to have finally taken a big step back. Let's begin with the week 1 recap.

Week 1
    I have some very unfortunate news to share. I went 1-5 this week on picks. In fact, the only pick I got right is myself. I guess it's just because of how good my team is. Due to it being week 1, those picks don't count against my record. Very unfortunate for the haters (Sam). Let's look at what happened.

The first of many wins for my dynasty. Private Joe has a pretty good team assembled thanks to the Eagles, but not good enough for this team. Lamar Jackson and Mahomes are going to lead me to a third championship.

This is a game no one quite expected. Looking at Jake's team now, it's actually not that good of a team. Jack on the other hand, seems to be set to make a little bit of a run. Kittle is now hurt, but Jack still had Daniel Jones go off on his bench. If CMC and Deebo can continue this pace, he might actually make the playoffs this year.

This was a very rough game for Ryan. He had Otton starting that put up a big 0. Burrow also only put up 10 points for him. Ryan only lost by 2 points, so he should be fine once he gets his starting lineup figured out. Coach Doug on the other hand, may not be as well off. He was kind of banking on Cam Ward putting up points and he did not do that at all.

Any other week, Joe would have won this match. Unfortunately for him, Sam was very fired up for this game. Sam did not like what I had to say about his team. In fact, he even went as far to say this:

"That’s weird I thought I was guaranteed to lose? I guess mom was right, not everything you see on the internet is true"

That didn't go over with the group as well as Sam thought it would. I informed Sam that I would in fact double down on my take that Sam's team isn't that good. Jared also had this to say:

"Bros expecting to get glazed and instead he’s just gonna get called a SNF merchant lol"

Jared is absolutely right here. The only reason Sam won this year was because of Josh Allen and Zay Flowers. Unfortunately for Sam, Josh Allen and Zay Flowers aren't putting up that many points every week. I don't think Sam will ever win a game again.

Big week for the current reigning champ. Ryan 2 took a big risk in the draft with JJ McCarthy this year and it's worked out for him so far. Egbuka also had a big week as rookie for him. His other players are going to have to start contributing in order for him to maintain this success though.

Once again, Jared had to show all of us why he is the king of fantasy. Jared had 7 players put up at least 14 points. One of the big factors for Jared was Keon Coleman. If he can continue to put up those kind of numbers, I fear that it would be hard to stop Jared this year. Stephen's team has taken a dark turn as well. His QBs didn't perform well and he unfortunately had Worthy as well.

Week 2

    Just so everyone is aware, the same applies for week 2. If I do good on my picks, then they count. If my picks aren't that great, it's because it's the beginning of the season and it doesn't count.

Unfortunately for Ryan, but he has no chance here. When you have to start 2 players that are projected 5 points, it's going to be hard to pick up a win in general. I do think Ryan has a good dynasty team though. It just might not be Ryan's year.

Pick: RJ

Both of these guys need to get a win here to get back on track. Unfortunately for Joe, I think Jake takes the win here. It's going to be hard to beat his 2 QBs of Bo Nix and Kyler Murray and his 2 RBs of Bijan and Henry. It's going to be a rough start for Joe.

Pick: Jake

Last week I counted Jack out, and I am going to do it again. Private Joe just has a solid team thanks to the Eagles. I do see a path for Jack to win here though. if the Chiefs defense can somehow slow down the Eagles, Jack can pull out the win here. The Chiefs defense did not look good week 1 though. We will see. Everyone loves an underdog story.

Pick: Jack

Unfortunately, Sam is going to win here. This is going to make Sam think that his team is good. You couldn't be more wrong. Coach Doug's team is built for the future, not to win this year. Doug has a lot of young players that are going to be good later on. Sam also has a lot of players that are going to be good only temporary. For example, Hollywood Brown. Enjoy it Sam.

Pick: Sam (sadly)

I hope Alex wasn't trying to win this week, because it's going to be close to impossible. Just like Doug, Alex has a lot of guys that are going to be better later on. This week is not the week that Alex's team takes a turn. I hope Alex wins for the sake of not seeing Jared in the playoffs.

Pick: Jared

This is going to be a tight matchup here. Stephen's chance of winning is going to come down to his QB play. Dak and Wilson are going to have to step up this week. I think Stephen wins if this matchup happens any other week. Why not this week? The matchups. A lot of Ryan 2's players are playing some weak defenses. The luck of the draw in fantasy.

Pick: Ryan 2

I plan on ranking teams solely based on their names, potentially adding a fantasy punishment, and a potential rule change for next year (it's electric I promise).     I would like everyone to notice that I updated the actual championship stats for all the haters out there. This league went from ESPN, to Yahoo, to Sleeper so it was a lot of work. I would also like to point out that Sam has never won a championship.
