The Savannah Bananas Just Embarrassed The Cardinals

The Cardinals have had the worst start to a second half of the season that you could have. Not only has the manager come out and said that management and ownership are forcing him to trot out terrible starters, they also continue to lose on the road in Arizona. Unfortunately for the redbirds, noy many people noticed. Cardinals fans were too busy selling out Busch Stadium.

This weekend the Savannah Bananas were in town and they put on a show. The Harlem Globetrotters of baseball brought out Cardinals legends Adam Wainwright, Lance Lynn, and Jason Isringhausen. Everyone seemed to have a great weekend, everyone except Cards ownership. They just got embarrassed.

The Cards ownership, the same ownership that for years has refused to spend money in free agency while at the same time telling fans to be quiet and watch, are watching another season fall apart. The manager has called them out in interviews due to them forcing him to continue to start the two worst starters in baseball. While getting swept in Arizona, the Savannah Bananas are selling out Busch Stadium.

Ownership has blamed everyone except for themselves when it comes to lack of attendance. They've pointed the finger at everything from the sport itself to even blaming the fans. Ownership even had the audacity this season to say that they will continue to not spend money if fans don't show up. Well the fans did show up, just not for you.

Every lie ownership has said was exposed this weekend. Even the former Cards players that were apart of the Bananas weekend said this was one of the loudest crowds they have heard since the playoffs. Cardinals fans are not the problem, ownership is.

The ownership and management of the Cardinals sat idly by and watched as their product on the field took a turn for the worst. For years people have said that they are "one piece away" from winning the World Series. They never went out and got that piece. They just sat in their private box and watched as other teams caught up to them. There's a reason the hot water in the visiting clubhouse occasionally doesn't work, they do not care. They have not renovated the amenities for the players since the stadium was built. Ownership has killed "The Cardinal Way" for one reason, money. They do not care how good the team is or how nice the stadium is as long as the money continues to flow. Now that the money is not longer flowing, they are apparently looking to sell.

Many people do not like the Savannah Bananas. Some people think that they are ruining baseball, but everyone in St. Louis should thank them. While the Cardinals continue to plummet in attendance compared to other teams, ownership as blamed everyone except for themselves. This weekend, the Savannah Bananas rolled into town and exposed every single one of those lies. Thank you, Savannah Bananas.
