Does College Football Need A Salary Cap?
Deion Sanders was interviewed recently and said he believes that College Football should have a salary cap like the NFL.
Colorado coach Deion Sanders is advocating for a salary cap in college football, noting that it would help even out the competitive landscape in a sport that is already becoming more like the NFL.
I disagree with this simply because it would never work. If you think about it, everyone used to have a salary cap of $0. Believe it or not, teams just worked around it and did some things in secret. Teams would just go back to that if a salary cap was implemented.
Would a salary cap make college football more even? Yes. Has college football ever been fair? No. That's just apart of college football.
The only thing college football needs to worry about are these big schools turning smaller schools into feeder schools. What if one day Georgia gives Georgia Tech a call and says "We will pay for everything. All you have to do is just let these guys on your team and we are going to take those players in a couple of years." That would ruin college football as we know it.
